Richard Diedrich, FAIA
Known as the "Dean of Golf Clubhouse Design", Richard J. Diedrich, FAIA has been designing notable golf and resort facilities for the entire golf industry with over 300 individual projects to his credit. Through a global reach in practice, teaching and as author, Dick has led the resurgence of the clubhouse as the architectural soul and social center of the planned recreational community. Throughout his noted career Dick has collaborated with golf design legends Jack Nicklaus, Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, and Palmer Design and his work has received 12 American Institute of Architects Awards for Design Excellence.
Dick is a noted professional lecturer at Harvard School of Architecture where he created, and for going on 16 years teaches, the professional development course on design of clubhouses. As a published author (Building Type Basics for Recreational Facilities and The 19th Hole: Architecture of the Golf Clubhouse) Dick is a world renowned expert in the field of clubhouse design.
